
Colette Harding is a School of Healing Martial Arts (SOHMA) Certified Tai Chi Chuan Instructor since 2023. The SOHMA Tai Chi Certification includes focused training in Tai Chi History and Philosophy, Martial Arts applications and Push-Hands, Anatomy and Physiology, and the techniques of the Yang Style 24 Form and Ba Duan Jin Qigong.
The Tai Chi Chuan Instructor Certification course instruction and mentorship was received from SOHMA Founder, Tai Chi Master and 5th Dan Shaolin Kempo, Dr. Daniel Hoover, DC, LAc, CCSP. Colette is also BASI Certified Pilates Instructor, and a retired Modern Dance, Ballet and
Contemporary, Dancer. She received her Pilates Body Arts and Science International
(BASI) Pilates Instructor Certification in 2000, and was certified and instructed by BASI
Director Rael Isacowitz. As a dancer and choreographer, Colette has instructed and
choreographed Modern Dance and Ballet since 1997, and received her MFA from the
University of California, Irvine in 2004. Her MFA degree from UCI included studies in
Dance Choreography and Performance, Dance Kinesiology, and Injury Prevention. She
received her BA in Dance from the University of South Florida in 1997.
Colette’s experience includes work with clients of all ability levels from the beginner
client through professional athlete/dancer. This includes the elderly client, the physical
therapy client, and with clients of all ages and abilities. Colette also has experience
working with clients with chronic and progressive health conditions. Colette is prepared
to work with a client’s doctor and physical therapist to help with the rehabilitative and
therapy process.
Colette has had experience in Pilates Certification mentorship for certification students
through Miracosta College and BASI. At Miracosta College, Colette worked as
Associate Faculty for the Dance Department instructing degree seeking students in
Pilates Mat Work and Reformer Work, Pilates Pedagogy, Student Internships, Anatomy
and Kinesiology for Pilates and Dance, as well as, Modern and Contemporary Dance
Choreography and Presentation.
Colette has a great passion for the Arts, including Dance and Pilates Instruction and
presentation. Colette has used her experience for work with CHCDC, Moving Current
Dance Collective, the Regina Klenjoski Dance Company youth programs, MiraCosta
College, Saddleback College, St. Petersburg College, Eckerd College, Perkins
Elementary, the University of Tampa, University of South Florida, the University of
California, Irvine, among others
